Malaysian Journal of Sustainable Agricultural (MJSA) is a cross-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of sustainability in agricultural and food systems. MJSA publishes papers concerned with the advance of agriculture and the use of land resources throughout the world. MJSA publishes both theoretical developments and critical appraisals of new evidence on what is not sustainable about current or past agricultural and food systems, as well as on transitions towards agricultural and rural sustainability at farm, community, regional, national and international levels, and through food supply chains. It is committed to clear and consistent use of language and logic, and the use of appropriate evidence to substantiate empirical statements. It publishes original scientific work related to strategic and applied studies in all aspects of agricultural science and exploited species, as well as reviews of scientific topics of current agricultural relevance.

Frequency: Bi-annual

Introduction

Specific topics of interest include (but are not confined to): all aspects of crop and animal physiology, modeling of crop and animal systems, the scientific underpinning of agronomy and husbandry, engineering solutions, decision support systems, land use, environmental impacts of agriculture and forestry, impacts of climate change, rural biodiversity, experimental design and statistical analysis, the application of new analytical and study methods (including molecular studies). The journal also publishes book reviews and letters. Occasional themed issues are published which have recently included centenary reviews, wheat papers and modeling animal systems.

Aims & Scope

MJSA increases knowledge on what technologies and processes are contributing to agricultural sustainability, what policies, institutions and economic structures are preventing or promoting sustainability, and what relevant lessons should be learned. MJSA addresses agricultural sustainability directly and comprehensively. Papers published in the journal contribute to answering the questions: What makes agriculture more (or less) sustainable, how, and why? MJSA covers both theoretical as well as more technical topics, but does not include coverage of technical experimental findings, derived from field or laboratory based studies, unless they explicitly and comprehensively discuss the sustainability aspects of the research.
MJSA is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal, published by ZIBELINE INTERNATIONAL PUBLISHING. It publishes original research, applied, and educational articles bi-annually in all areas of agricultural science.
MJSA is striving to provide the best platform for researchers and scholars worldwide to exchange their latest findings. Authors are encouraged to submit complete, unpublished, original works that are not under review in any other journals. The scopes of the journal include, but are not limited to, the following fields:
 Agriculture-Environment Interactions
 Agriculture and Rural Economy Interactions
 Agricultural engineering
 Agronomy, including plant science, theoretical production ecology, horticulture, plant breeding, plant fertilization, and soil science
 Animal science
 Aquaculture
 Biological engineering, including genetic engineering and microbiology
 Food and Consumer Issues
 Husbandry
 Institutional and Policy Issues
 Technology Development
 Irrigation and water management
 Land use
 Waste management
The journal is published in both print and online versions, and the online version is available for free.
